THE BEST OF . .CLASS S The Class of 1983 was lead by Julie Gresho, president, Jeff Bevill, vice president, Sheri Robbins, secretary, and Judy Byer, treasurer. Our class advisors were Mrs. Jeanne Glenn and Mr. Jerry Black. From placing first in Homecoming week to graduation, we have had a great year. Starting out the year with a bang, the seniors sold bookcovers, designed specially for our class by Julie Gresho, Balloons at football games proved to be a successful money maker, and a good time, as two senior clowns sold the brightly colored spheres. As Valentine's Day rolled around and so did the Valentine candy grams, a touching note for a special friend. Sailing Free in '83 , proved to be the general feeling for this year's Senior Ball, a feeling of togetherness and completion. It was held at Boundary Oaks overlooking the lights ofWalnut Creek and Concord. As so many times this year, we feel ourselves looking back in time, sometimes only one or two years or sometimes all the way back to our freshmen year. Back then our Freshman Class was led by Johnny Guzman president, Sheri Robbins, secretary, and Lisa Smith, Treasurer. As we move to our sophomore year we were lead by all girls, Diane Kruger, president, Julie Biddle, vice president, Gia Gilson, secretary, Lina Ramos, treasurer. As we move closer to the goal of our senior year we pick Terry Glenn as president, Alana Roderick, vice president, Diane Kruger, secretary, and Yvonne Branscum, trea- surer, in our junior year. Now that we've looked back, let's look forward, for the seniors of 1983. With the economic forecast outlook dim, but improving, there was a faster pace of life and less family unity. This year's seniors have many different problems to face than did our parents. Fantasy may soon become reality. But with the strong base we obtained from the teachers, faculty, and administration we are all looking forward to a bright and successful future, in any direction we decide to choose. The Class of 1984 was lead by Aimee Vasta for the third year in a row. She had plenty of help from her officers: Manette Joksch, vice president, Lisa DeFremery, secretary, and Shelley St. John, treasurer. Mr. Bill Batze and Mrs. Gretchen Tovar lead support and direction for their class. Thejuniors took first place in the float competition for the third year in a row. With successful fund-raisers, candy sales, flowers at Homecoming and raffles during the basketball season, the Class of '84 is in excellent financial shape for the start of their senior year. As they find themselves in the turning point year, the Sophomore Class picked Alfred Arroyos as their class president, Karla Lorenzetti, vice president, Suzette Riley, secretary, and Janice Paulson handled the money. Mrs. Chris Weber and Mr. Dennis Hitchens were their advisors. Liberty sweat- shirts were designed by Alfred to be sold by the class. Again the sophomores sponsored the annual Turnabout Dance and with the juniors the Soph. Hop!Junior Prom both of which were successful dances. The sophomores captured second place in the float competition at Homecoming and another second in competition for the Spirit Trophy. Our new Freshmen Class need lots of guidance and support, which they seem to find in their officers and advisors: Tamara Texiera, president, Sabrina Nares, vice president, Denise Mendoza, secretary, and treasurer Lynette Cancilmilla, with advisors Mr. Patrick Foley and Mr. Vic Thornhill. The fresh- men had a good first year with candy and baseball hat sales, to get them on their feet. Homecoming posed as a hard time for the inexperienced freshmen, but they proved they could handle it with a third place in the float competition, and a good turn out in Homecoming's Spirit Week.
