Superintendent Works For Tax Increase Election Approval of a 25 cent tax election was just one of the many things at- tributed to Superintendent Wayne Boulding's efforts this year. Working with honor roll students, Mr. Bould- ing had lists of students parents made so they could be advised on the im- portance of the election. Establishing closer communication between parents and the school was also achieved. Through the Parents' Club, meetings, and Coffee Klatches parents have been able to understand what is happening at the school. Mr. Boulding also had the dif- ficult task of completing a curricu- lum review started two years ago. Along with this a new budgeting Escorting Cathy Cakebread, 1970 Homecom- ing Queen, oft the field during half-time is Superintendent Wayne Boulding, who is holding the trophy awarded to Cathy. system was started. 'iso 42 s f Group Counseling Starts This year a new project was started in the counseling department. En- titled Group Counseling , it was headed by Mr. Henry Raming and was aided by Mrs. June Drake, school psychologist. The main purposes of group coun- seling are to talk about common concerns or problems, express feel- ings in a small group, and to help students to understand each other. Some of the regular duties of the counselors this year were handling transfers, arranging and discussing classes with students, having con- ferences with students' parents, and helping students with their many social and school problems. Candy stripers were formed this year by the school nurse, Mrs. Bar- bara Bonnickson. Groups were started in September and January. School psychologist, Mrs. Drake, was busy talking with parents and students about many home, family, and social problems. M 5?
