For the first time, freshmen members studied state requirements and social studies skills. Sophomores learned the rules of the road as they involved themselves in driveris education. juniors familarized themselves with United States history through the use of the newly instituted LAP program. Studying our nationis governmental system, seniors utilized a new text, Contemporary Issues in American Democ- racy. Mrs. Pat Dacus, a l' S. History teacher. asks the opinion of one of her students. Inspecting the tropical plants in tht- school greenhouse, Terry Gregory. Brian Coffman, and Charlie Powers. seem to find some type of fungus or bug invading the rubber plants. Hi h School Farm Plays ital Role With a big emphasis on farming in the Brentwood area, students, under the direction of Mr. Cary Lewis and Mr. Tom Stammer, were engaged in the actual management of a farm. Besides the running of the farm, the agricul- tural department expanded to include a butch- ering and slaughtering class and house for use in the actual cutting of beef and lamb car- C3SSCS. Among the new projects completed this year were the building of a new road through the school farm and the building of a water fountain. The Ag department also acquired two new feed bins and a new hen house. To complete the class, this summer ag students will participate in the County fairs at Antioch, Pleasanton, and Stockton. 26 -a 'Q Constructing a paper covered structure in Mr. Ron Slammers crafts class.
