Those who have left the regular scholastic program or were in need of special assistance or needed an emphasis on a particular subject could look to the Special Education Program for help. Under a relaxed atmosphere, students were able to produce, having work geared to their in- dividual needs. Most of the assignments, be- cause of their nature, were planned and made- up by instructors Mr. Frank DeParsia and Mr. Robert Frary, with a new addition Mr. Art Gonzales. Mr. Arthur Gonzales explains to Donna De.-kzevedo and Olivia Beltram some of the basics of English. New to the Special Education Depart- ment, Mr. Gonzales is teaching English as a second language to Mexi- can-American students who already had as their first language, Spanish. 21
