Variety Spices Girls' G m Class With the help and planning of the two new gym instructors, Miss Shari Saunders and Miss Patricia Caves, the girls' phy- sical education department offered a more extensive program of sports this year. Besides the regular P. E. sports which include swimming, field hockey, baseball, basketball, volleyball, archery, badminton, and tennis. The department developed a training program for each of the sports. Before the students went into actual competitive games, they spent many hours improving the skills involved, and learning the rules and techniques involved in the sports. 4a un. S .-A. ? The boys physical education program is de- signed to help each student obtain knowledge and skill in a variety of sports while keep- ing physically fit. The boys are train in such sports as bas- ketball, football, gymnastics, swimming and track. Also, there is an extensive strength IZCSIZ. Through working and playing together as teams, the students learn to get along with others and gain a better understanding of themselves. 30
