C Citizenship Training Students participating in social studies become acquain- ted with the history and development, not only of our country, but also of other nations. In western civilization classes, freshmen are familiarized with the history of people in foreign lands. State requirements introduces sophomores to the social problems they may encounter as adults. As juniors they begin to obtain an insight into the de- velopment and background of our own country. In their senior year students take American government the first semester, and then, as a matter of their own choice. complete the year with either economics, sociology, or foreign relations. Variety Spices Girls' G m Class With the help and planning of the two new gym instructors, Miss Shari Saunders and Miss Patricia Caves, the girls' phy- sical education department offered a more extensive program of sports this year. Besides the regular P. E. sports which include swimming, field hockey, baseball, basketball, volleyball, archery, badminton, and tennis. The department developed a training program for each of the sports. Before the students went into actual competitive games, they spent many hours improving the skills involved, and learning the rules and techniques involved in the sports. 4a un. S .-A. ?
