The business courses offer a basic education to those who wish to have a part in the business world. Students are introduced to such skills as typing, filing, accounting, duplicating and sten- ography. In his first year at Liberty, Mr. Donald Yeager is an important addition to this depart- ment. Also important to a business career are the fundamentals students learn such as record keep- ing, bookkeeping, clerical office practice, short- hand, and business mathematics. With access to a full one and one-fourth acres of land and two new greenhouses, the department has been able to place more emphasis on actual field training. Drafting Utilizes New Equipment To keep up with the progress in modern industry, the drafting department has presented a pro- gram encouraging the use of modern drafting equipment. Girls have been welcomed into this department because of the new trend for female labor in industry. Besides the Mechanical Drawing I and Il classes, there were also two classes offered in Archi- tectural Drawing. These courses have been found to be a good background for varying oc- cupations such as drafting. interior decorating and engineering.
