For her devotion and inspiration to students, Annual Staff proudly dedi- cates the '65 LION to Mrs. Mary jane Barnes. Mrs. Barnes's early education was obtained in Kentucky, the state in which she was born. She furthered her education at Arizona State where she received her Masters Degree in English and Social Studies. After fifteen years of teaching ex- perience at various schools, Mrs. Barnes joined the teaching staff of Liberty. During her years with us she has taught English, drama, public speaking, and journalism. Besides being active in many social and school functions, Mrs. Barnes finds time to write. She has written and published a number of plays and has recently published two books of poetry, DELTA PORTRAITS and THE OPPOSITE SHORE. To Mrs. Barnes, wife, mother, teacher, authoress, and friend, we would like to express our apprecia- tion and gratitude. . .I leave you the golden sun in spring To overrun each day your cup with fire. . That purpose is to improve constantly and update the education of the Liberty students. Every day from eight in the morning until often late in the evening, Mr. Wayne Boulding can be found doing such tasks as supervising the new QOHSETUQ- tion, interviewing job applicants and discussing new course offerings and improved curriculum with the staff. Purpose just as the curriculum was fitted to the students of 1904-1905, so is it being tailored and improved by Mr. Boulding for the students of today and tomorrow He is ever serious about his duties but still possesses a keen sense of humor and a contagious smile. These, along with a willingness to consider each problem with patience and fairness, are but a few characteristics of Liberty's Superintendent- Principal. f 1
