JCDNES The Annual Staff of 62-63 proudly dedicate this Liberty Lion to Allan E. Jones. His efforts have been untiringg his humor never failingg and to him, our favorite, we pay trib- Ute. Under the direction of Mr. jones the advanced band has received many awards. At the California State Music Festi- val it has been rated either 'excellent' or 'superior' at each of it's showings for the last five years. We realize that this is a very small token in comparison to Mr. jones outstanding work, but it is with pride and grad itude that we dedicate this book to an individual who has con tributed so much to the progress of Liberty. 2 .J A . Another group of future citizens is graduating from Liberty High. You are now quite well- educated and thinking young men and women. You do not just accept everything said to you, but do some critical analyzing before reaching a decision. This, among other things, is what the school has tried to ac- complish during your four years here. Con- tinue to be critical thinkers, regardless of your future pursuit in adult life. Especially be critical in your political choices, so that only the best people will represent you in government. Be critical in your thinking about your personal decisionsg your life's work, choosing a mate, and your moral and spiritual values. I do not mean for you to be trouble finders, but rather to give serious thought to issues before making important decisions. If you and the thou- sands of others graduating this year will be thinking citizens, we need not have too much worry about our country's future. Congratulations on your graduation and sincere best wishes for your future. District Superintendent S UPERIN TENDEN T A D PRINCIPAL19 MESSA GE To the class of '63 Your community gives you the oppor- tunity to seek an education of your choice. You have made use of the opportunity and have reached this milestone of your life-- representing four years of progress in Liberty Union High School. Your graduation marks an ending and beginning. Continue to exercise your right to choose the direction of your life. Strive to direct your life toward those goals which your school has helped you develop. By virtue of your attendance, your as- sociations with teachers, and your partici- pation in school activities you have become a permanent part of Liberty Union High School. Remember always that we are in- terested in you and will do whatever we can to help you. Sincerely, O Uegbe.. qife '53, ' ,,.-- ,,,.- ,4- LMUUUDCUVTRUSTEE r E L to R.: F. Richart, I-I. Hobbs, S. Their record of four wins, four losses, and one tie, while it shows improvement over the 1961 record, does not give credit to this club that lost several Closies that eould have given them a 6-3 record. Nineteen Seniors finished their football eligibility this season, however, big things are expected from the 1962 junior Varsity which had a brilliant record. Captain . . . . . On March 24, in the early hours of the morning, the main build- ing of the school was reduced to charred ruins . While the flames were still consuming the building, many of the records and materials were saved by the students . With inspiring community and school spirit, private citizens and students pitched in and helped the teachers and administration to open school after but five work-filled days. For the students and private citizens who came through in a crisis, a tremendous amount of gratitude is felt. My-'f-' 2, Z .lit I . ' b .
