I wandered over by the track and saw KAY KRETSCHMER running in his fishing boots getting in shape for the 1963 Olympics. His trainers, DENNIS O'BRIEN and JOHN MACH- ADO, said he was in great shape. I was talking to ESPER SANDOVAL and she said that WILMA PATTERSON, DARLENE SWANEY, and CECIL SOUTHERN were married and had moved to Siberia to be with their husbands who work in the salt mines. YVONNE SCOGGINS has taken over her dad's garage and sells striped and checkered paint for the new look in the Brentwood hotrods. DONALD BECK has taken over George Mikan's place on the Minneapolis Lakers. I heard from him that BOB ENGLAND is the new water boy for the Harlem Globe Trotters, and I thought he would teach Ag to the FFA boys. I walked down by the air strip and saw CAROLYN CARPENTER almost have an accident in her helicopter. Good things' she had air brakes. DEE ROSE FURI who was furious iust about ran into her when Carlyon didn't signal for a left turn. I learned from head mechanic DON STILES that MARTIN ENNI and KENNETH WILLIS had just taken off for a non-stop flight to Byron. Hope they keep their eyes open because they might miss it. I went up to the show house and BEV COLBURN is now managing the place. There was a double feature on-RICHARD HARMON is now playing the role as Skip-along Catastrophe. He is a real go-getter. Co-starring with him is RICHARD DEL CARLO as Will Bull Hiccup. He's really getting popular. The second feature was a show about Never Cut Off Tomorrow What You Can Chew Today. Starring in the picture was BEV MARTIN and EVELYN HOL- LAND with Borris Karloff and Lassie. After the show I dropped out to Matthew Coehlo's ranch to see how he was doing after these years. I was surprised to find that BILL FRYAR was his foreman. He gathers the eggs every morning. He sure is a yolker. I was walking back from the ranch and ROBERT WILLIS and EDITH THOMPSON picked me up. While we were driving back to town, we heard the I7th edition of TOM SLATTENS radar gas-reporter, JOHN SALES give a report on CHAD CURTIS who ran on the vegetarian ticket for President of the U.S. His boy had iust chopped down the Cherry tree. He also has a girl that sings. Y iv sa I stopped by a restaurant to get something to eat and found that it was run by CAROL MISQUEZ and DORA GARCIA. I looked over in the corner and saw an old friend ROSALIE ZUCCHELLI scrubbing the floors. She said she was going to be an old maid until Harry got back from the hospital. Rosalie told me that PAT WILEY had won queen for a day at Borden Junction. This was a thrill. I had a pretty rough day so I went to the Brentwood Hotel to get a room. Do you know who I saw? LORAINE CARLYON was the manager with JANIE MCCLELLAND the assistant manager. They told me that ILENE COPPING was President of the Oakley Hen Session CWomen's Clubb. I also learned from them that JEAN PATRICK, ZELTHA MAE WILSON and RUTH YOUNG- BERG were teaching high school at L.U.H.S. I also found to my surprise that JOAN PRATT was a sergeant in the WACS and that ADELIA FAJARDO had joined the Waves. They said that she had Stalin on the run all the way from Moscow to Lenningrad and into inner Mongolia. As ever, ALOWISHES P.

0, .gr 2' I I I I Dear Agnes, As you know I have been away to the war but the other day I was mustered out at Camp Stillman so I thought I'd go over to Brentwood to see my old friends of the class of 52 who graduated IO years ago. The first one I saw was PAUL BRYANT down by the dump stirring up the trash, he giwf June 20, I962 Brentwood Calif to fix RAMON LE FE'VRE's car which hasn't run since HOWARD BEATTLE lit a match at midnight on hill I3 to check the gas. No wonder they call it hill 6V2 now. When all the 'N U isn't getting rich but he makes a clean living. He said he was looking for some auto parts ' Q smoke cleared away HARRY ARMSTRONG was still sitting on the back seat 2 miles away on top of a hill yelling, Have we got any gas. I decided to see them at the hospital and ran into JO ANN REYNOLDS, NIELA NIELSON and LA RUE REED working at the hospital. They were working under Doctor EARL CHACON who was head of the place. He always did like to see blood. EDDIE CRANDELL got rid of his Chevrolet by trading it to JACKIE BYERS Ford Company. This is a pretty good bargin. Old Chevies never die, they iust run that way. When I was crossing the street a taxi almost ran over me. I iust got hit on the leg with the fender. IRENE SANTOS was driving it and ran around the corner, out of sight. As I was picking myself up here came PAT SANTOS in her new Cadillac, she ran over me and parked on me. The only difference is that Irene hit and ran, but Pat hit and parked, on me. I saw GLENN POOL and RUFUS HURST hitch-hiking to Port Chicago. They had worn out their old cars by going over there so much. We stopped by DICK TIPTON'S snooker Palace and saw the old pool sharks, CDON ANDERSON, ROY DOWNSD, playing FRED LORENZETTI and NICK RODRIQUEZ some pool. Roy shot so hard the ball went through the pockets. I dropped by BONNIE PROPP'S radio and television shop to watch television. First I saw a football game between the California Bears and the Green bay Packers. The two star full- backs battling it out for the Championship, were ED DOUGLAS and ZULA MENDOZA. On the side line I saw JANICE JOHNSON rooting for Ed. The one rooting for Zuly was JUANITA MARTINEZ. I didn't see who won because I wanted to see a wrestling match between RICHARD MARTIN and KENNETH HOWARD. No one won because the referee AL PEDER- SON got mad and threw them both out of the ring. Following the wrestling match was DELFINA VIRAMOTES'S dress designing show with LEONA VASQUEZ, LORRAINE DEJESUS, and DOROTHY FREITAS as the models. I had iust enough time for iust one more program, so I tuned in on LEON STEMLER'S all star Incas Spots featuring GERALD BETTENCOURT on the clarinet, GEORGE MCKINNEY on the trombone, and HAZEL WALKER as the singer. I dropped by the Brentwood Daily News and saw SUE MUNDELL who was the managing editor. PEGGY JONES was one of her reporters with DALE EMERSON as her star photog- rapher. The pictures come out in the next day's paper but Dale still gets there. I took a look at the society page and saw that FRANCINE BELLECI was getting married to Harry after a long engagement. On the advertising page I saw an advertisement for the GEORGE DITMAR, FELIX PAS- TOR, RICHARD SYLVIA, and JOE TORRES speed shop. They are souping up iet motors that will be guaranteed to fly right out through the hood.
