Scholastic records, athletic records and records in picture and print such as are contained in this fine annual. lt is fitting that we should be interested in such visible evidences of achievement and that we should strive to improve them. However we should realize that the true value of school experiences is not measured by records written on paper but by those written in the minds and personalities of the students and that real success only comes when such inter records are sound and true. ii X Q4 ADH-'lv' dl ,XX V1 'x N RBC A 14,5 3. 6 ' lar V Q ug' ii of l 7 7 I F . It faced many of the problems staffs before us have faced. Trying to meet dead- lines, raise funds for publication and getting photos had us all worried. But the time and energy spent has proven most rewarding. Much of the success of this yearbook is due to someone who always gets the complaints and hardly any praise. To Mr. Biedermann. our advisor, we give many thanks for the pushing that made this publication possible. The entire Annual Staff hopes this book will bring back memories. . This year the STUDENT BODY OFFICERS worked very hard to perform their duties given them under the new constitution. Many difficulties did arise but through hard work they were overcome one by one. The Judicial Court was a new department added under the constitution, which was to settle all disputes. Headed by the Chief Justice it settled several arguments. The student council, under the leadership of the Student Body Vice President, met twice a month to do many things, the most important being the setting of dates for school activities. l f The BAND was a very important and active organization in our school this past year. The group played for the league games during the football and basketball seasons. They attended many assemblies and rallies and led the annual Halloween Parade. The band members sponsored an aftergame dance and made their annual trip to Los Banos and San Jose, where they matched skill in marching and playing concert music with other schools. 1 X This was the second year the CHOIR performed for the public. The group entered many chorus festivals. and last year at the San lose Music Festival they received the rating of L'Excellent.H Among the activities were: singing for the Parentls Club. Womans Club. Rotary Club. the grammar schools and high school functions. The Spring Concert sponsored by the Music Department every year was a great success. BAND First row, left to right: .-X. Sani. Z. Mendoza. The extra point wasnlt good. Jackie Domingo was caught in the end zone in the second quarter by a charging Amador line. Lenny kicked-off in the third quarter, the ball rolled into the end zone, leaving them on the twenty yard line, and in one play they managed to score, the extra point being good. Later that quarter Nunn carried the ball 48 yards for our second touchdown. C.S.D.-We slaughtered C.S.D. 37 to nothing. Nunn scored twice in the first quarter and Men- doza scored in the second quarter. All three con- versions failed. Ellison scored twice in the third quarter, and Berumen made one extra point. C.S.D. managed to get within six yards of our goal during the third quarter. We had 366 yards to their T3 on the ground and made 30 first downs to their 7. SAN RAMON-Nunn scored early in the first quarter and Berumen made the extra point. but they were quick to retaliate with T points. Nunn scored three times in quick succession in the sec- ond quarter. twice running over 45 yards. Berumen made one conversion. Neither team scored again until the middle of the fourth quarter. when Morse made the final touchdown. EMERY--Early in the first quarter Vonder Ahe blocked and recovered a kick in their end zone. Four plays later a pass, Pederson to Nunn scored again. Early in the next quarter within ten yards of our goal line they lost the ball and never got closer than the thirty yard line after that. ln the fourth quarter Nunn scored and Bloomfield kicked the extra point. We made 233 yards to their 21 on the ground, and had 14 first downs to their Y. LIVERMORE-The Liberty Lions played their best game against the Livermore Cowboys but were cheated of the victory by an eager Livermore team. They capitalized on our mistakes. Although not in points, we slaughtered them statistically with a total yardage of 253 to a measly 89. We made 35 yards passing while they made none, 14 first downs to their 4-, and were penalized only 33 yards to their 65. The Cowboys scored in the first quarter and managed to hold the Lionls mane by taking the ball within less than a yard of their own goal line on a fumble. Considerable credit goes to our outstanding backfield and a fighting line. SPECIAL AWARDS-Donn Vander Ahe and Ronny Nunn received the awards, at the annual Lions Club Football Dinner, for the most valuable line man and most valuable back respectively.
