IN lvlElv1ORIAIv1 ANTHONY CASTRO A MESSAGE TO STUDENTS For many years, we, The youTh, have been Told ThaT our TuTures lie before us. Much emphasis has been puT on TuTure success and TuTure happiness. We have been consTanTly reminded ThaT we are The ciTizens oT Tomorrow and ThaT we have inheriTed a wonderTul land of liberTy, The UniTed STaTes oT America. How- ever, now our liberTy and our TuTures have been ThreaTened. We Tace for The TirsT Time The horrors of war, horrors we have encounTered only in hisTory books up To now. The shock oT war has provided a seemingly Tirm reason Tor youTh To disregard compleTely Their plans Tor The TuTure and To Think only oT crowding all Their desires inTo The immediaTe presenf. l-lowever, now more Than aT any oTher Time, clean and normal living should be emphaTically sTressed. AlThough There is an aTmosphere of uncerTainTy, There are TuTures for The youTh, TuTures which will demand The besT from each individual. When The war is over and The counTries are leTT war-Torn and crippled, sTrong minds and healThy bodies will be sorely needed To liTT our counTry from The depThs oT war. l Think ThaT The Seniors should Take more care This year in planning Tor The TuTure Than They would under normal condiTions. To The Freshmen, Sopho- mores, Juniors, and Seniors, l would like To say This: Everyone wishes To do his parT, and your parT lies in The Task of becoming capable and TiT To underTake The reconsTrucTion oT our governmenT when peace is again resTored. BARBARA REYNOLDS. Class of l942.
