J I dJuhe 12th 5000 Zio. I H By H5,BoAoI:o 1 We shall, for your benefit, epause on the threshold of our lnarrative to inform iou that it was not a dream wnicH awakened us ifrom our sleep.. It was a cold, ,deadly suffocation that forced u to leave ournsweet sleep behind, land to break out into a most la- mentable cry, nQuick, open this .boXA or we dieln ihen, while still in the midst of this pitiful state of ,being, we heard a rather loud 'noise. We remained silent for a few moments and at last arrived S lat the conclusion that it was the -knock of a hammer, the squeak of ,a'ehisel and the sound of voices, which had broken the silence of ,our abode, Wherefore we offered all the prayers we knew Knot many? and bid the devil-and everybody else to please remove 'us to safety from this quite un- dcomfortable or rather confound- edly uncomfortable habitation. Before we had finished saying NAmenH, the lid opened with a crash, whereupon we poked our heads out, rubbed our eyes, combed our hair and said, NWhere in the Sam Hill are we?n But whom should we first see but HTurnipsn and Ray Houston. We were indeed greatly puzzled at the sight of these two. No, it could not be true and yet here they were, there was no doubt it was true, for there was HTurnipsn with his same old clumsy ways, an Hay with his pleasant frown. Said Turnips, turning to Ray, uLet me introduce to you, Mr. Houston, my most intimate friends Mr. Bailey and Mr. Karrerg this is Mr. Houston, Bailey, I mean Mr. Karrer, Mr. Bailey, a cousin of Mr. Karrer is a cousin to Mr. ----lx!Ixxxxxil--dawgonne it! nWhy, you've got it all mixed ,H grunted Mr. Houston, a little bit embarrassed. nYou look out there, or I'm likely to lose my temper,H quaked HTurnipsN back at him. We interrupted the battle by asking, NWhere, what, why and who up 1 A are o u .-----..m , , , , -.-.- f -f are ne? Turnips, aiu you stop looking at us like that, you had better go home and put on de- cent clothes. Why, those pink trousers, that black shirt and yellow hair look perfectly ab- surd.n H Hlt is the style V NParisien?n nHa1 Hal He! He!--What A kind of a language do YOU SPGUK? laughed our friend Hay sarcast- ically. HI suppose you will per sist in saying that this barley sack I wear is also absurd- If paid 252 cacketts for this X .Y. Z,, and I don't think you can afford to laugh with those clothes on. One would Say t ha you belonged to the twentieth century instead of the thirty- first.U nThirty-first, what do you mean?u UYes, today is June l2, ZOO A.D.u, replied our friend very knowingly. The last time I you, I believe was in 1925. the graduation exercises on June l2th. 1 We could not understand wha in the world he was talking about. However, gradually w S21 at 6 thought it had dawned upon our membranes. But we were stil perplexed, and asked.u NWhere are we now? Hwell, I would tell you. only I have to meet Prince Kytsandwitch today, and can delay him, but Leo,u Said HG turning around, HSGHG for Geraldine and sh'ell tell th Whereupon, Hay picked up boulder, and cast it on the ground.
