Faculty There is one thing that is essential in the operation of any organization, and that is the necessity of great leaders. Mr. Currey and Mr. Fain are more than a principal and vice prin- cipal to us; they are a constant example of self-control, self- pride, and self-esteem. Many people are not aware of the countless hours that they spend in our behalf. So, along with this reminder, we would like to take this opportunity to show our deep gratitude toward them. — Class of ’82 75 Mr . Nancy Hartman Mr . Donna Hayes Mrs. Fern Nutter Mr . Distributive Education Clubs of America is a co-curricular club associated with the Distributive Education Depart- ment's Junior-Senior Marketing and Credit and Banking programs. Activities derive from the four points of the DECA diamond. These stand for Vocational Development, Leadership Training, Civic Consciousness and Social Understanding. Activities of the Club include career and community-related services. Liberty’s DECA members attend meetings of the Clarksburg Chamber of Commerce. Community surveys and Marketing activities, services for the Mother-Baby Clinic and the League of Women Voters, and Toastmasters International are among their sponsorship. The primary project is management of Currey's Corner Store, which is also a lab for the Marketing and Credit and Banking programs at Liberty. Student workers earn credit when they obtain their work experience as Project students in the store. Sixteen members attended State Career Development competition at Parkersburg Mall in Apparel and Accessories, Advertising, General Merchandising, Credit and Finance, Economics, and Career Competencies in April. 105 The group hosted the first Regional DECA Mock CDC conference for Region II of the State. 106 Kevin at hia very best. 108 109 W Julie and Jackie lead the way.
