LIBERTE 1981 THIS IS IT There’ve been times in my life I've spent wondering why And still someday I believed We'd always survive But now I'm not so sure You're waiting to hear Just one good reason to try But what more can I say What's left to provide. This is it, Make no mistake of where you are Your back’s to the corner Don't be a fool any more The waiting is over. You. the Class of '81. have received your education in a very liberal atmosphere which has allowed you to explore and develop your tal- ents. Liberty High has continued to lead in Harrison County and Central West Virginia because of your work and dedication to make it the best. The offi- cers of the class and Student Council have made every effort to excel in their offices. In attempting to evaluate your three years, we have had many ups and downs; but, I believe, we have profited by our experiences together and have grown to respect and appreciate the opin- ions and beliefs of others. I feel certain you will continue this tradition of open inquiry and respect for everyone's views as part of our heritage from Liberty High. Denme McHenry Distributive Education Clubs of America is a co-curricular club associated with the Distributive Education Department’s Junior-Senior Marketing and Credit and Banking programs. Activities of the Club include career and community-related services. Liberty's DECA members attend meetings of the Clarksburg Chamber of Commerce and will be working over a two-year period on a handbook for new residents coming into town. Community surveys ana marketing activities, services for the Mother-Baby Clinic and the League of Women Voters, and Toastmasters International are among trieir sponsorship. Several members attended NARCON in Toronto, Canada, on November 11th. The primary pro- ject is management of the school store which sells school supplies, spirit items, mints, gifts and a broad line of art. sewing, poster and sports supplies. Students earn credits for trips and merchandise. The TRS-80 computer provides business accounting services to the store and curriculum. All of the group prepare for competition at the State Career Development Conference to be held in Wheeling's Oglebay Park, then on to National in California. Next year the group plans to host a regional conference at Liberty and send representatives to NAR- CON in New Jersey. The wrapped package in the symbol represents tying up the skills necessary for a Marketing or Credit and Banking Career. The four points of the diamond stand for Voca- tional Development.
