LIBERTE LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL Clarksburg, West Virginia ivelyhood Underclassmen Seniors Student Life elpers Faculty Advertising Hail Alma Mater, Hail, Hail to thee. All through its portals Rings Memories. Hail Liberty High, Hail, Hail to you. Hold our faithfulness Close to you. Beginnings of our life arise from thee, and Deep in its soul comes a man and his goal Hail Alma Mater, Hail, Hail to thee, All through its portals Rings our Memories. Hail, Liberty. Hail Liberty. 3 tef {he Bug bUe got All different for some reason, All the same for one goal. As we came to this school, we came as individ- uals, all different, in thought and action. But as we approach the end of our school days here, we come to realize that we are all different, but yet we are all the same. We are separate, but we are one. We all have different ideas, but we share our joys and our sorrows, our victories and our defeats, our tears and our laughter. After we graduate, we will again go our separate ways. Hopefully this book will serve as a reminder of how we worked for that one goal. You are the first class to spend three years at Liberty. There will never be another like you. You have set high standards for those who follow. We have accomplished one goal in having two merit finalists for the first time in the history of the school. Our athletic teams have displayed outstanding sportsmanship while carrying the banner of Liberty High School. We were evaluated for the first time by the North Central Association. They gave us an exceptional report and we were recognized statewide for our accomplishments in language arts, science and math. The innovative approaches used in these fields will be copied by others throughout the state. Our band has grown until it has become an elite organization that thrives on competition. I am sure we will receive a very high rating at the band festival this spring. In evaluating the past year, it has been the best. I am positive we will have many more. All of this has been made possible by a progressive Board of Education, active student body, hard working faculty, and parent support. W. Currey WILSON CURREY. But more important we have become attached to the people. These people have been your family for three years. We share joy and sorrow, victory and defeat, anger and happiness. As we walk down these halls for the last time, we can't help but feel as though part of our life has just ended, that we will never see some of these people again. I only hope that this yearbook will serve as a reminder of these days which will all too soon end. My thanks to the yearbook staff for all their support and hard work, and also my thanks to my friends and the students of Liberty without whom there would be no yearbook.
