No one ever said she was normal Evelyn DeMeyer has been in our school district since 1968 and in the high school from 1976. Throughout her years spent here, she has been many students' only beacon of light when they have found themselves in troubled waters Al- though she is retiring, the groups she has formed in our school will continue to serve their purposes, which was her pur pose as well: to assist young adults through what can sometimes be hard times. Thank you Mrs. DeMeyer for all your time and effort in making our days spent here a little easier. 4________________________________ Superintendent Richard Beruk Asst. The trees that were planted there will serve as a remem- brance of this occasion for years to come. WALK-FOR-YOUTH On October 18, 1987, students involved in the drug prevention groups of L.C.H.S. walked 10 kilometers in order to raise money for their organizations. Ho, Ho, Ho, lolly Green James BLOOD DRIVE In late October, a great community service was conducted at Liberty High School — the annual blood drive. Students and staff who met the requirements donated blood to the Hudson Valley Blood Service. Hope- fully the blood drive will continue to be a success in the upcoming years. Missy and Barbara helped get the job done. Kevin consoles Joey in time of need. We're 1! A special thanks to everyone who helped to make the blood drive a success. Are we having fun yet? Andrea — jusi hangin' out ... Joe's posing ... Just another pretty face? Can I help you? Inseparable ... for Kevin. WHEN ... One day when I'm older and the days mean so much more and the lights begin to light the way When the waters meet the shore When paradise seems close at hand and my fears begin to fade and I learn to smile instead of frown for the game's been more than played When love finds me without a clue and my dreams fall into place when I drop out of the running the day I win the race When time becomes an illusion a painted silhouette When life becomes a double dare and the challenge has been met One day when I'm wiser profound without intent like the aftermath of memories and all the dreams I've dreamt When I say goodbye and hold my smile for hello is close at hand and the hurt won't penetrate the scars I have When love and hate are banned When rainy days are matched by warmth and the clouds move from the sky When you're asking for a second chance but they just don't want to try When loneliness is matched by wits and the rainbow starts to show and the pot of gold is in demand When this world of greed will glow One day when I rejuvenate and look at how I've grown I'll hold on to who and what I am for that is all I own When I think of where I'm going and see how far I've gone and remember where I came from as the memories live on When I wonder where you've gone and I think of all these days When the future is the present and we've all gone separate ways That's when I'll remember all my years at L.H.S. and realize that my high school days simply were the best.
