This year the club created the Mindy Hafner Memorial Scholarship in memory of Mindy Hafner who served the Library Club for two years as vice- l president and was an active and enthusiastic member. The club raised over 51100.00 for this scholarship by selling lights for the Christmas tree, placing collection cans in various businesses, l and selling and pianting trees in Mindy's memory. To receive this award, the first five issues of the newspaper are judged on all aspects of the pub- lication including layout design, news coverage, feature stories, editorials, and style. The Panther Paw has re- ceived an award for the past nine years, and this is the second time the staff has attained this high level of achievement.
