HERE'S THE NEW LIBERTY CENTER SCHOOL Pictured above is the architects' sketch of the new Liberty Center School Building. CD To the right of the present building and along the west side will be additional elementary rooms and at kitchen for the school cafeteria. The elementary addition may be two stories high if sufficient funds are available. 127 The present auditorium-gymnasium will be converted to a multi-purpose room including cafeteria, audito- rium and playroom for the elementary children. C31 South and east of the present building, an additional building will house agriculture classes, farm shop. science classes and laboratories. The present cafeteria and kitchen will be converted to an industrial arts department, and the present industrial arts deparment will be used as a music room. C41 At the extreme left is the new auditorium-gymnasium, which will seat 1200 for basketball games and 1800 as an auditorium. It is hoped that the building will be ready for the 1953-54 school year. A new building at the west and rear of the old building, which will house school busses, was completed in February. Work on the new auditnrium-gym- nasium will start as soon as the weather moderates, and the gym may be ready for the second half of next year's basketball games during the season. SIXTY-SEVEN YEARS OF PROGRESS With the completion of the proposed building additions, the school plant will have grown from a four room brick structure, erected in 1886 on a small plot, to a thoroughly modem plant valued at well over a million dollars. Over fifty rooms will be provided on s site of apporximately 20 acres. The lighted football field, cinder track, and other facilities for athletics and playground will be among the very best. The garage houses eleven busses and provides a repair shop, thus caring for the transportation of over five hundred pupils. The people of this community and the Boards of Education serving over the period of many years are to be highly commended for their liberal and progressive spirit in providing good schools. 48 ' -gn. .ai 3 , 4 0 Q ' fry Q, rj R ' 'K , e A v'.b I 45 'X 1 . yL:VJAA 3 i , ,JNL Danni Kun lgwio Queen Lnvonn Hobby Show Kicldies FUN A+ 'Hue CARNiVAL Tam w A FIRST ROW- Bob Dawson, Manager. We had a very inspiring football season during the year of 1952. With the help of the Booster Club, the cheering section, and the people of the community the 1952 football season ended with the team winning five games and losing four. sa Having two new coaches leading the high School squad they came along with a fine record, one that has not been duplicated for several years. We, the annual staff, would like to extend our congratulations and appreciation to Head Coach Howard Schaetzke, Assistant Coach Clyde Schie, and the football squad. We would like to thank you for all of the long hours spent in making it a successful season. With the help of the coaches, the student body, and the support of the Booster Club, we know that the football squad will come back in '53 to make another season end well. The Seniors cannot be easily forgotten, for they will be greatly missed in both the line and backfield. He has to have something besides vague ideas. However, such things, whether they be the Ark or the Cross, are but symbols. God is a Spirit, and as a Spirit must be apprehended inwardly. Symbols may help, but they must not become a substitute for God in the heart. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go unto the house of the Lord! fhfhfh Wm i C -1 f i The churches which sponsor this page extend a cordial and friendly welcome for all people to worship regularly in their chosen church. lt is the lives of the faithful men and women who are the living brick and mortar of the true Church who meet in the Meeting House on the Chosen Day.
