tNSWfN?YuWW -L.-S, Our high school golden rule days began on a bright September morning in 1947. 54 green freshmen easily adjusted themselves to their new environment of high school life under the direction of Mr. Brown and Miss Lind. Gary Young was president, Marilyn Heckler, vice presidentg Maynard Kern, secretaryg John De Wit, treasurer. A party was given in honor of Mr. Brown's birthday, which everyone enjoyed. Reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic became a little harder in our sophomore year. We gained three new classmates and had 57 members in our class. Harold Kessler was president: Audrey Ru- dolph, vice presidentg Ula Spiess, secretary, Donald Dickman, treasurer. Class sponsors were Mr. Leatherman and Miss Shingler. The class enjoyed very much the sponsoring of the homecoming dance. You were my queen in calico was being sung during the preparation for the junior-senior prom, our biggest event of the year. For many of us our iirst formal dance. 53 members stayed on to try to reach the final goal. Officers were Bob Beck, presidentg Maynard Kern, vice presidentg Joan Slentz, secretaryg Marilyn Heckler, treasurer. The class was capably directed by Miss George and Mr. Bard. The class was very active in extra curricular activities and edited and published Tiger Tales, the school newspaper. We were all pleased when we received our class rings. Our junior year ended with a big picnic at Oak Openings. When we were a couple of kids will echo in our hearts when we remember our senior year. The busiest and happiest days of our school life were here at last! The capable officers were Kenneth Wulff, prsidentg Harold Kessler, vice president, Ruth Jennings, treasurer: Mary Weis, secretary. Mr. Romaker and Mr. Rickly carefully directed us through the year. Many members were busy working on the annual. We journeyed to Napoleon to have our pictures taken. Elmer Hogrefe was chosen football captain. 12 members were in the band. Eloise Glanz was chosen homecoming queen and Joan Slentz was her attendant. Shirley Proudfoot was carnival queen. The class presented two plays, Seven- teenth Summer, and Mother Is a Freshman. The seniors were guests at the junior-senior prom. Then on May 23, 47 proud and happy seniors slowly walked up the steps to receive their diplomas. As we leave these halls of Liberty Center High School we are certain that these four years of prepa- ration will help us make the world a little better place than we found it.
