tq Hgffovy 118 In September of 1944 fifty five eager young pupils began their high school career under the watchful guidance of Mr Overmier and Mrs Davis In their first meeting as a class thev elected the following officers for the year Belva Daum, President Glen Vollmar, Vice President and Barbara L n thicum Secretary and Treasurer When the 1945 sophomore class now numbeurg only forty seven organized itself with the as sistance of Mr Rosenberger and Mrs Davis it chose the following pupils to lead its activities durin the year James Bouli President, Glenn Spieth V106 President Betty Like Secretary and Carolvn Fredrick Treasurer Several well planned cla s parties were held which added much enJo5 ment to this econd year of high school In the fall of 46 the class found itself one round higher on the ladder of education I climbing however, it lost tive of 1tS members diminishing it ranks to forty two The officers elected for this busy year were Betty Like President Burdette Saneholtz Vice President Carolyn Fredrick Secretary and Leo Barlow Treasurer Dur ng th year the class won first prize in the high smhorl Christmas decorating contest and sponso.ed a succersful Valentine party and dance. The senior class which convened in 1.941 to begin it.. final year was the smallest in the high school but it endeaxoredl to make up in the quality of it? wcrk what it lacked in quantity. The officers chosen for the last year were: Danny Riga! Pre'idf.n.' Glenn Vollmar Nice-President' Ned Swordcn Secre- tary and Burdette Saneholtz Treasurer. l'he class of 1948 with the help of its sponsors M.. Rickly and Mr. Romaker was a leader in extra cullic-ul'1r activitie: and scholarship. It presented two play? Going Place. and Our Hearts Were Young and Gay and made other valuable contributions to the educational and cultural programs of the school. 20
