the daily happenings Approximately nine times a day for five days a week this is a very familiar sight. The beginning and end of each period is announced by a buzzer-bell com- bination located in each classroom. The students are allowed from 2 1 2 to 5 minutes to change classes. As shown in the picture, this allows plenty of time to stop by the water fountain and the bulletin board. This picture might well be labeled Cafeteria Cla- mor. For an hour each school day, the place is in full swing, as students from all 12 grades enjoy a break from studying, get their fill of food, and discuss the prob- lems of the day. The majority of the upper six grades may be found right here in the study hall at noon. It just seems to be the perfect time to let loose and cut up just a little. In the corner by the windows are the seniors in their usual gathering place while the sophomores and freshmen occupy the other side of the room. 17
