Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1960 volume:

As I Recall . . . It was in September. 1948 that I first entered this building, embarking upon my school career. This is the LIBERTY CENTER SCHOOL. This is the building, the stu- dents, and the traditions, of an institution dedicated to an intangible ideal that to- morrow ' s achievements are built on today ' s accomplishments. Presenting, the dreams of yesterday — As I Recall . . . MR. GLEN DUNN, TRUSTEE MR. LLOYD LIEURANCE Superintendent Graduates and Students, Once again the ole school clock has ticked its way through another school year. The winding thread of life has woven another pattern of life. Many things have evolved leaving our minds full of memories of a never-to-be for- gotten life in a surrounding of culture, excitement, and learning. For some this year will glow brighter in your memory: for others it will be but a dim flicker. Changes have occurred in each and everv one of us. Maturitv has found a new avenue to drive us to a better, more prosperous life. Knowledge has seeped its way into our brains, and a precipitant intellect has resulted. My greatest wish is that this intellect will grow and bring its master the rewards of a diligent worker. Best Wishes. John C. Class parties, and class projects contributed greatly to our school spirit. Some classes were small, some classes were large, but regardless of their size they are dear to my heart: they are my friends. Presenting, the classes, As I Recall 37 ' ' Problems of the School Are Their Concern ' Executive Comiiuttee Members The executive committee is comprised of students in the high school who are president or vice-presi- dent of their class. They serve as official representa- tives in all matters of concern to the entire school. The executive committee is involved in the real problems of the school and offer many suggestions for improvement. It gives students practical experi- ence in scheduling, organizing, managing and ad- ministering. The active committee deserves the understanding, respect, and cooperation of students, faculty, and administration. It was in the fall of 1956 that we first entered high school with the de- termination of someday attaining our goal. Basketball games, final exams, spring dances, class plays and numerous friends were all too soon transformed into ancient history. Somehow it was hard for us to say good-bye to the people who helped us live the happiest years of our school life. In- stead we said. Au revoir — until we meet again. STAHL SON CALL II7I-I State Road 124 1 M?le East BLUFFTON, INDIANA Memories . . . Yes, that ' s all we have now. As we come to the last page of this book we also come to the end of the realities of our high school days. We can never return to them, only by remem- bering. That which we have gained will never be lost as long as we are able to brouse through this book . . . full of Memories . . . our memories of yesterday and dream: of tomorrow. We shall never forget the happy moments ... the surprises ... the thrills ... the friendships we ' ve all had together. All we will have to do now is to open our 1960 Memories and we will again be with our beloved Liberty Center High School. Lest We Forget our school, our friends . . . our teachers, now and then let ' s brouse through this book . . . full of Memories . . . This 1960 Memories and be together again. Memories of the school will linger on. We ' ll be lonely — lonely for the crowded halls— bulletin boards, study halls, the pep sessions — lonely for — well, let ' s just say lonely. So to All — principals, who have been tolerant; teachers, who have been patient; custodians, who have made LCHS a comfortable place to be; cooks, who have served us meals, bus drivers who took us back and forth each day— and to you, the boys and girls, who have been our companions throughout these past twelve years, we must say good-bye. Again — good-bye. The Seniors, 1960 TAYLOR PUBLISHING COMPANY ) The World ' s Best Yearbooks Are Taylor-made
