ff' INVOLVEMENT . School is traditionally considered to be a place to study, to strengthen your mind, to explore new territories. It is not just the books and the classes that make school the learning experience that it is. It's the people, the events, the athletics, the school organizations and the involvement in all of these. Academics at Liberty-Benton is well diversed offering everything from Fitness and Foods to Computer Literacy . Our classes not only at- tempted to teach us the basic skills required for life, but also give 'us the opportunity to apply ourselves and excell in areas we may never have known we could. Some of us elected to become involved in every imaginable school organization or athletic team while others held a part-time job after school to keep busy. Whether our choice was to participate in football, FHA, or the school choir, belong- ing was the key word. We knew involvement and participation were the road to a fun-Hlled school year. Through our aftiliation with people, school groups or otherwise, we learned to work with others, to cooperate, to give and to receive. Al- though some of us may never attend a football game or an organizational meeting during the year, we all ha ve something in common at Liberty- Benton. Among these: the mindless horror of a surprise quiz, the agony and ecstasy of a date for homecoming, the relief of a good test grade, and what life in Eagle Country really means. It takes a lot of people to uphold a tradition of excellence. It takes artists and athletes, musicians and scholars, teachers and staff all working to- gether to make success a material thing.
