CLASS HISTORY Our class history started in 1952. Thirteen members came from the Benton Ridge School to join Liberty's ten. But before the end of the year, Jim Peterson moved to Find- lay, and Shirley Reigle to Mount Blanchard. We welcomed Doyle Campbell from Findlay and this made us twenty-two in the class, giving us a nice start for the second year. At the beginning of the year we chose the following officers: President, Merle Butlerg Vice Presi- dent, Marjorie Butler, Secretary Treasurer, Orville Clymer, Student Council, Marilyn Flick- inger and Jon Saums. Mr. Underwood was our homeroom teacher for that year. Our initiation which we shall always remember was held in the gymnasium. That year we decorated for the May Day festivities, which we enjoyed very much. Our next year we were Sophomores. We had twenty-one to start the year. Those who left us that year were: Lowell Spitnale, who moved to McComb, Walter Steensen and Doyle Campbell, who moved to Findlay, and Marjorie Butler, who moved to Arlington. During this year we welcomed Mike Lenard from Findlay and Myron and Byron Heidlebaugh from Vaughnsville to join our class. Our officers that year were: President, Norman Shank, Vice President, Barbara Beuclerg Secretary, Marilyn Flickingerg Treasurer, Marjorie Butler and Jon Saumsg Student Council, Nancy Williamson, and Merle Butler. Mr. Russel was our sponsor. The year of 1953 left everyone with a pleasant memory. We decorated for Bacca- laureate that year. At the end of the year we still had twenty-one to start the next year. Then Earl Edmister and Jack Wells came to join our Junior year. Leaving a class of twenty-two. We put on a play called Stranger in the Night which we will always remember. Mr. Russel directed the play. We also sold candy for Christmas and refreshments at the basketball games.
