That year we chose Janelle Misamore as president, David La Roche as vice-president, Jo Ann Woodward as secretary, Jack Hook as treasurer, and Helen Radabaugh and Fred Hoenicke as student council members. Mrs. Gongwer was our home-room sponsor. Roy Ridge and Lester Butler entered this year. Our next year we were sophomores. We had sixteen members this year. Those who left us that year were: David La Roche, Dale Arnold, Enedina Perez, Jerry Fry, Ralph Taylor, and Merle Cramer. During the year we had Angelene Groat and Carolyn Castello to join our sophomore class. Our officers were, president, Fred Hoenicke, vice-president, Dan Gerber, secretary, Helen Radabaugh, treasurer, Jack Hook, student council, Dorothy Dukes and John Hanna. Our home-room sponsor was Mr. Howard. Next year was our junior year and we still had sixteen members to start with our class. Our officers were: president, Fred Hoenicke, vice president, Dan Gerber, secretary, Carolyn Castello, treasurer, John Hanna, student council representatives, Janelle Misamore and Roy Ridge. Mrs. Gongwer was our sponsor. We had our junior play, This Ghost Business, which we enjoyed doing, and thought to be a good success. Mr. Howard directed the play for us. Senior year was busy and an enjoyable one. We started by electing our officers, president, Dan Gerber, vice president, Fred Hoenicke, sec- retary, Carolyn Castello, treasurer, Janelle Misamore, and the student council members, Jack Hook and Dorothy Dukes. We presented the Senior play, The Elusive Bachelor, with Mrs. Wilson as our director. Russel, Ruth Steiner 14 eadafz 66444 Fwfedeaq I was walking through the woods one fine autumn day. The sun was shining and a soft breeze was blowing. I had been walking for quite some time. so I was beginning to tire a little. I saw a very comfortable looking tree trunk lying on the ground just ahead. So, upon reaching it, I was more than glad to rest for a-while. I had been there for sometime before I noticed I wasn't alone. There was a little man sitting on the other end of the trunk. Wishing to be polite, I started making pleasant conversation with the man. After becoming quite good friends, he offered to show me his famous invention. I was rested by then and was quite naturally curious as to the type of invention he could have. After a short walk, we reached an open spot. There was a funny machine sitting there. I-le eagerly showed me how his invention worked. By turning a knob, the machine showed many different scenes. First, Iwas shown many of the happy and memorable scenes of our high school days at Liberty Twp. Local School. Then, by turning the knob in the opposite direction. I was shown many places Ihad never seen. The first scene looked like it might be in New York. It was. In fact it was the great Metropolitan Opera. As I was watching the scene, a well known singer walked on stage. l-le looked slightly familar, but whom did I know that wore a handle-bar moustache? Why. it was Fred Hoenicke, guitar and all! I looked into a calm, peaceful scene. What a change, if it was really vfno I thought it was. It was Jo Ann Woodward, happily married and well-known author of a famous book entitled How to Argue and Get Away With It . She has her daily practices over TV with her favorite partner, Jerry Fry. Carole Bowman has made her life complete by opening a home for old men with lonely hearts. Ernie Gamble is teaching football to a husky-looking team in Florida. Helen Radabaugh and Gay Nell Brown are still together, as theyhave been all their lives. Now I see that they are both Majors in the SPARS, They have complete command of an Atom-Bomb carrying ship. Carolyn Castello has her hands full, I see. She has combined her career as a medical technologist with that of trying to teach her ten boys to be gentlemen. Jack Hook is still the same as in high school. In Paris, he is known as the elusive bachelor . Janelle Misamore, kind hearted as she had always been. has devoted her home and time in operating a home for orphans. Angie Groat had made her beloved Home Ec.work into a career. She is head of the Home Economics Depart- ment at the Ohio State University. I was shown l-lollywood next, A very popular actor is being photographed. l-Iaven't I seen him before? Cer- tainly, that's Johnny Hanna, playing in a retake of Romeo and Juliet . A big fashion show is being staged. in my next scene. Who is responsible for all this? There is Marilyn Kisse- berth, head of making those lovely things and Mary Lou Arnold, world famous fashion designer. We always knew they wanted to do this type thing. Next I was shown Washington. There is an office door ing dictation to Dorothy Dukes. The business wizard, Mr. essary for him to have his nurse beside him even at the So that's why she studied her Latin and chemistry so hard Well, I had been seeing many wonderful things but Motor Company was the scene of mynext visit. There the open, through which I can see the boss, Roy Ridge, giv- Ridge has a severe heart ailment, which makes it nec- office. She looks familiar. It is Margaret Osborn, R,N, in school apparently I still had more to see. In Detroit. the Ford two Vice-Presidents are Leland Wiler and Lester Butler. Well, Well! What a trip I took next! Why, the scenery seemed familiar. Of course, there is Liberty High School. Iwas shown Mr. Oswald's labratory. Certainly. that wasn't Mr. Oswald!! Of course not, that's his follower, R. Dan Gerber. After Mr. Oswald spent so much time teaching Dan it's no wonder he took all the high honors he did in college and now is taking Mr. Oswald's place in Liberty. The little man Ihad met before, turned off the machine. I had nearly forgotten him in my interest over the activities of my former class-mates. I thanked him very enthusiastically for allowing me to see the things I did, and he started in the direction of the woods, so I turned and went home, completely happy. l5 n, gawk I ,X -1 Hi.: ,4f55:,-...,.,.,3L.h K ' 1 w M 'w ' vin 7- ' -van- :uu- - . And isn't that why American business, under our free competitive system, constantly gives you better and better products? Take gasoline, for instance.
