Class Prophecy Just fifteen years ago the class of 1950 graduated from Liberty High School. Since I haven't seen my classmates of '50 for a long time, I decided to spend my vacation traveling around and looking up the members of my graduating class. I started my vacation on a lovely day in June. The first member of the class that I met was Margaret Knepper, living in Cleveland. She was working as a private secretary to the well known lawyer, Howard Foltz. I went with Margaret to the office to talk to Howard. He said that Margaret could take a well earned vacation at this time. So off we went. While we were going through Pennsylvania, we saw a beautiful church, and decided to go in and look around. When we opened the door we heard organ music, and much to our surprise we found that the organ was being played by Beverly Shepard. She told us that she had been organist in this church for over five years. We arrived in New York two days later and decided to visit the radio station. The entertainers for the program that we chanced to see, were none other than Julia Wittenmyer and Don McCartney. They both had advanced a. lot in acting since the Senior play of '50, As we were leaving the radio station, we happened to see Fred Hissong getting out of a car. He told us that he was a coach at Cornell University and had been there for the past six years. When we asked whether he knew where any of the other class members were, he said that we would find Pat Price and Donna Taylor in Florida. We decided that we would spend a few days relaxing in Florida. Our first day there we saw both Donna and Pat. They were the owners of one of the hotels there. The next day we went swimming and found the life guards to be Dick Brown and Harry Briggs. Margaret and I both wanted to see a rodeo, so after a few days of relaxation, we started out for Arizona. Stopping for gas one day, we found one of the attendants to be Merrill Wiler. He informed us that the owner of the station was Gene Lunn, but he was away on business so we were unable to see him. We decided to stay at a dude ranch while we were in Arizona. We stopped a police- man that was walking down the street, and asked if he could direct us to a dude ranch. You can imagine our surprise when we realized that the policeman was Richard Oberholtzer. He gave us directions to a dude ranch owned by Dick Rantz and John Cole. After we had made ourselves confortable at the ranch we asked whether there would be a rodeo soon. We learned that there would be one in two days. The day of the rodeo arrived and scheduled for the main riding event was Charles Shull. Jimmie Rettig took . first in the calf roping contest. We heard that Estella Beck was a nurse in a hospital in California, so that was our next stop. When we got to California we decided to take a taxi to the hospital instead of driving there ourselves. The taxi driver turned out to be Doyle Tuttle. Estella was off duty when we got to the hospital so we all went uptown to do some shopping and talk over old times. The clerk that waited on us in one of the stores was Marian Arnold. She told us that she enjoyed her job very much. Having seen all of our classmates, we said good-bye to Estella and headed back for Ohio. Margaret's vacation being almost up, I dropped her off in Cleveland and then left for my home. It has been a very enjoyable vacation seeing all of my fellow graduates of 1950. Beatrice Clymer Z4
