SENIOR CLASS HISTORY URRAH The new school burldtng rs complete and a group of students are seated rn the fourth grade room wrth Mary Hummel as therr teacher There were a number of new faces and new names We thought we would never learn them but by and by ue succeeded tn getting acquamted lt was not very long untrl examrnatron time Everybody took therr books home ln order to get a perfect grade Soon the year vsas over and everybody was anxxous to be turned loose and to forget about therr books The three months of vacatlon seemed very short and soon we were back at school There were present a number of new faces but we were sorry to see some of our old class mates were not present Our Frst task was to learn the name of our new teacher We soon learned that her name was Flosste Powell As the term wore on we agam became trred of school but we put up wrth xt untrl May and passed on to a hlgher grade When the school term opened rn the fall of 1924 we learned that Dorothy Powell was to be our teacher We all seemed to like school better and we took a greater mterest IH our studres The t1me passed rapldly and we were agam enjoytng our vacatron ln the year of 25 we were greatly surprrsed to fmd Dale Clymer as our teacher Every one became a lxttle excrted as we had not been used to a man teacher We soon became quteted down and began to study ln the mxddle of the term we added Opal Huffman to our lrst makxng a group of twenty four The year soon passed and the next year found ourselves upstaxrs wtth the hugh school students we certamly felt tmportant We were called the .lumor Htgh The class was now rn the last year of grade work havmg as rts teachers Mr Clymer and Byron Stearns Graduatron trme arrrved and everyone was excrted as they decorated the stage so they would look exceptronally nrce At last vte were rn htgh school wrth an enrollment of thtrty four Nme new members of the class came from Benton Rrdge Thev were Rowena Hlssong Ruth Burner Della Rade baugh Martha Jones Martha Ellen Btshop Clara Chapman Donald Wxllxamson Thomas Eltck and Gerald Gross Of course we were termed The Green Freshles The class met and the following ofhcers were elected President Vwlrlson Kuhlman V1ce Prestdent Clara Chapman Secretary Ruth Prxce Treasurer Lucrlle Vvorden Reporter Donald Clark We also elected as our very successful sponsor Mr Dunathan We returned at the begmnmg of our Sophomore year to fmd only twenty two members back Those vtho dad not return were Margaret Pearsel Mary Thompson Paultne Lemons lllla Belle Gentry Della Radebaugh Martha Ellen Btshop Martha Jones Gerald Gross Gaul Patterson Donald Clark Raymond Lampmg and Thomas Fhck Wrlson Kuhlman was agam elected Presrdent Wnlbur Clauss Vlxce Presldent Opal Huff man Secretary Treasurer Clara Chapman Reporter Mrs Ltghtfrrtz acted as our sponsor The Junior year was a very successful one We entered wxth tifteen members Those lgavrng us were Ruth Jordan Clara Chapman Leona Benner Gladys Pmerd and George orner We elected the followmg officers Presrdent Ruth Prtce Vxce Prestdent Wtlbur Clauss Secretary Treasurer Ruth Burner Reporter Norma Stewart Mr Conrad acted as our sponsor We purchased our class rrngs and thought they were very ntce We also purchased the stage curtam with the assistance of the Senxors of l93O as our memortal grft to the school J On March ll we presented the play The Famrly Upstarrs and March '75 we repeated lt at enera The Junror Senlor banquet was gtven on May 2 The audttortum was beautifully deco rated rn pmk and whrte The program conststed of speeches and musrc and the banquet con ststed of many good thmgs to eat Everyone felt that rt was the prettiest and mlost rnterestrng Junror Sentor banquet gxven by any class rn the school We are now Senrors and are commg to the close of our high school career We are proud to have wrth us thus year a nevt member Ruth Hrckman Mr Conrad was agam elected as our sponsor wrth Opal Huffman as President Lucxlle Worden Vxce Presrdent Norma Stewart Secretary Treasurer Ruth Htckman Reporter The Sentor class rs edtttng the annual and are trying to make tt the best one ever publtshed Although the class has been small they have taken part rn all the school actnvxtres and have shown a commendable school sp1r1t Qfonrmued on next ptgej Frfletn , . , . .
