At the beginning of the year they initiated new members into the club. The initiation was followed by a chili supper, which has become an annual event. They held the first chapel program of the year, had Thanksgiving and Christmas meetings, and held Holy Week services in cooperation with the Girl Reserves. Getting back into the win column, the Redskins played host to the Alva Goldbugs. Showing a strong running attack, the Red- skins pushed across touch-downs in the second and fourth quarters and by a strong defense, held the Goldbugs to small gains through the evening. Back Fullback Guard End The Redskins opened league play in the SAM Kansas-Oklahoma Conference with a de- RIGGS' feat at the hands of the Hays Cadets, who JR. had a charging team that would not give up End to the much heavier Redskins. The Red- skins played a hard-fought game but let down a few times. The Cadets tood ad- vantage of the let-downs to score a 19-6 victory. The next week the Redskins played host to the Hugoton Eagles and played good ball until the heavy, hard-charging backs from Hugoton began to rip the Red- BRUCE skin line for large gains. The Redskins TABER' were outplayed both on offense and de- SR. fense by the Eagles, who scored Z0 points Back in the first half but only 6 in the second half to go home with a Z6-0 victory. The Redskins lost their second K-O league game when they traveled to Guymon. The Red- skins played the Tigers an even-keel game during the first half. Goodland scored the winning touchdown on IR- a controversial decesion by the referee. They Guard were stopped on the Z-yard line and fumbled the ball into the end-zone, where a Redskin player fell on it. The referee awarded the Cow- boys a touchdown and a heart-breaking 13-6 de- In the last road game of the season, the Redskins traveled to Scott City. The Redskins were unable to make a first down during the CARL first down during the first half. The Redskins BRQADFOQT, played fairly good ball the second half and JR. Tackle showed their best passing attack of the season, but the Beavers had already rolled up a 13-0 victory. The story of the play concerned the life of a young boy who was babied and petted by his three aunts. The title comes from the inner-self of Willy who is visible only to Willy and who brings him out of his shell to the astonishment of his aunts. Willy doesn t like it when the inner-self tries to run his life- it makes it very uncomfortable for Willy to talk to his innerself in the presence of other people.
