mm 66444 Wm The class of '53 entered the doors of Libby High School on September 7, 1949. We marched into the assembly to find our traditional seats on the south side of the assembly. We eagerly awaited the big day of being initiated and of becoming legal members of L,H. S. Our first class meeting was devoted to the election of officers with the result as follows: Charles Taylor, president: Gary Bowen, vice-presidentg Edith Iaros, secretary, Pat Sheehan, treasurer: and Merrill Partlow and Leonard Darsow, student council members. We chose Mrs. Robert Gillespie and Mr. Albert Oursland as our class advisors. Gail Sherman was cho- sen a member of the Peptomiss. lt was soon Hi-Jinx time, so we chose Edith Jaros as our candidate for queen. We gave our annual St. Patrick's dance in honor of the sophomores, which ended our activi- ties for the year. As sophisticated sophomores, we again returned to Libby High School in the fall of 1950. This year we were the initiators, and, therefore, we gained revenge for our treatment as freshmen. David Sherman was elected presidentg Beverly Beebe, vice-presidentg Merrill Partlow, secretary-treasurer: and Gail Sherman and Bill Sheldon, student council representatives. This year Virginia Rice and Laura Williams were chosen as Peptomiss. Hi-Jinx finally ar- rived, and Jean Ward was our candidate for queen. Homecoming was one of our highlights for Merrill Partlow was elected Homecoming Queen. In 1951 we entered dear old L. H. S. as upperclassmen. Beverly Beebe headed our class as presidentg Curt Evans, vice-president, Sue Rawlings, secretary-treasurerg and David Sherman and Edith Jaros, student council representatives. We elected Mrs. Yarlett and Mr. Camp- bell as our class advisors. Again we welcomed Hi-Jinx with Gail Sherman as our queen candidate. This year Edith Jaros was chosen as a Peptomiss.
