P I 2 it 5? fs -I7 As the professional watch standers onboard OI Division is the nerve center of USS LEYTE GULF's operations underway. This division's Operational Specialists assume many diverse roles, controlling aircraft, maintaining detailed surface awareness, and providing secondary navigational inputs. Their hard work and professionalism allow this warship to be successful in everything it does. OI Division has contributed to every aspect of USS LEYTE GULF's mission during the AFRICOM Deployment. Pursuing piracy on both coasts of Africa, conducting a search and rescue operation in Cape Verde, and maintaining fleet surface awareness, the Operational Specialists onboard knew exactly what to do and supported the ship in every station. In-port, they provided support to Africa Partnership Station conducting commercial reQations service, and assisting receptions for dignitaries onboard. The Operational Specialists of OI Division are LEYTE GULF'S pillars, ready to support the ship in whatever it does. 49
