CF Division The AEGIS Weapon System is the most advanced weapon system currently installed onboard any Naval vessel. AEGIS class ships serve as the shield of the fleet providing anti-air, anti-surface, strike, and anti-submarine defense for the battle group. CF Division is re- sponsible for the SPY-IA phased array radar, the MK 99 Fire Control Sys- tem, ANUYK-43 Digital Computers, AEGIS Display System and various auxiliary equipment. Additionally, they are responsible for the Close-ln- Weapons System (CIWS) w hich fires a 20mm projectile at a rate of 4,500 rounds per minute making short vi ork out of anything that penetrates the ship ' s primary defense system.
