The present L club under the constitution oi today was organized in the tall of 1925 and the first president under this constitu- tion was Harold Maib who also organized the new club. His picture appears above with that oi Bobby Hanson the present president of the L club. This was an honorary organization formed ot lettermen from any sports who wished to join. The club has two main ob- jectives, to produce school spirit, and to provide social activity for the lettermen. The L club has a special project much of the school year. These projects pertain chiefly to athletics and the athletic pro- gram. But that does not necessarily mean. that it is limited to athletics. At the present time the club is striving to pay off part of the debt incurred when bleachers were installed in the high school gymnasium and when a clock was purchased for the basketball games. In the past few years the L club has sold Minutemen T shirts, Lexington High School letterhead station- ery, felt beanie caps, and pennants as a means for detraying these expenses. Dues are assessed each member at the rate of one dollar per semester. With the money that is obtained by selling these articles and the money received for dues the club pays for a special project and has an an- nual picnic at the close of each school year. The club has approximately 35 mem- bers at the present time, in comparison with 13 members when the club was tirst organized.
