Of the nine games played Lexington won over Cozad, Curtis, Phillipsburg, and the Gothenburg Swedes. On the other side of the fence the Minute Men were taken by McCook, North Platte, Kearney, Holdrege, and Ord. Although the squad was unusually light, the season was an exceptionally exciting one and the spirit was excellent throughout. I it ft S - ,, Y -. . . . ' V 1 i 9 'V 5 . Filled with the idea of conveying the beauty of music to others, the senior Band progressed under the direction of Robert Dyke. Strutting down the field, leading the marching band, was Kay Menke, assisted by six very able majorettes. Throughout the football season, the band marched between halves. Pep music was supplied at other times. As a climax the band was taken to Gothenburg to do their bit for the Turkey Day garne. Soon after the first of the year found the band without a director, as Dean S. Duncan felt the call of the west. But the band progressed under the march- ing direction of Kay Menke, the indoor directorship of Bill Bates, and the co- operation of everyone until the services of Mr. Dyke were secured. Several soloists and small groups represented this organization by several public appearances during the year. For rallies, a pep band furnished the foundation for the songs. The band is indeed one of the largest organizations in the school, and does not only do its part for the school, but for the community as well. Page 34 Lett to right: First row . . . L. Reaouloy, B.
