During the Thanksgiving Day game pep rally Grace Atwood and Karen Balchunas entertain in Indian dress. Twisting and twirling, Lexington’s majorettes lead the band at half-time. 26

schoo SPidtiee. - Saturday afternoons during the football sea- son see plenty of action on the gridiron and stu- dents join with the townspeople to contrib- ute to spectator enthu- siasm. There is always a routine to be practiced. A touchdown is an occasion for all to join hands for the victory dance. Another game ends, and the victory is felt by all as the spectators begin a victory march to the center of town.

= The cheerleaders are always on the move. Here they are doing the traditional line-up cheer. Each year Lexington looks forward to the Thanksgiving Day football game with our traditional rival Concord. To encourage pre-game enthusiasm and sportsmanship, pep rallies are held at which the players are introduced by their Coach John Janusas. Although the weatherman as usual did not cooperate with sunshine and warm temperatures at game time, spirit continued to run high, especially when Lexington produced this year’s winning team. Coach Janusas talks on good sportsmanship (a Lexington tradition) for the coming game. a | 27
