A school and its student body going in the direction of success runs efficiently and smoothly. How it goes frequently depends to a large extent on its administra- tion and faculty. Our school is fortunate to have the best leaders we know. Here Mr. Thurlow adjusts the bell schedule regulator which sends us on our way. School Committee members meet frequently and for long hours at a time to chart the progress of Lexington schools and to plan for the future success of Lexington youth. Mr. Medill Bair, Superintendent of Schools; Mr. Gordon Steele; Mr. Paul F. Poehler, Director of Instruction; Mrs. Mildred Marek; Mr. Donald Clark, Chairman; Mr. Mitchell Spiris, Director of Adminis- trative Services; Mr. Dan H. Fenn, Jr.; M. Sanborn Brown.

FACULTY MANFRED L. WARREN, B.A., Bowdoin College; M.A., Columbia University; Principal (January 1928- January 1961). We salute Mr. Warren for his many years of service at Lexington High School. As a dedicated teacher he has tirelessly worked to raise our academic standards, to help each student to further his education and to meet life realistically and confidently, and to create a stimulating and friendly esprit de corps in our school. Although in January he assumed a new duty as assist- ant director of instruction of secondary schools, he is still closely associated with our school. The student body is proud to welcome Mr. Johnson, who takes Mr. Warren’s place, as our new principal. CHARLES JOHNSON, B.A., Harvard University; M.A., Boston University; Principal (January 1961-).
