Fulton DEDICATIC The Class of 1954 dedicates the LEXIAN to Ramon K. Fulton, a mem- ber of our class. In 1951 Ramon was injured in a swimming accident which resulted in almost complete paralysis. However, he has given us a rare example of courage and determination and has made an enviable scholastic record. For these reasons we take great pleasure in dedicating this annual to Ramon and will be proud to have him with us at the Bac- calaureate and Commencement services. V We hope that in some way this book will reflect our recognition of and appreciationfor his unusual achievements, both as a friend and scholar. ft 'e 2 , Olmimiswoi ion F:MA Sszgf ?' 1 X N, X fx n M f A eg K x' fa, J, x Qfn ,, Q ,- - x I SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS HOWARD L. Mimi. !.l' PROPH ECY A LETTER TO THE EDITOR January 20th, 1924 the and. Dear Editor: All your readers know that in the year 1953 scientists discovered the way to reverse time, and that an enemy country at the same time was plotting to destroy civilization. So the scientists set time spinning backwards. But what the readers may not know is that the world again is making the discoveries and inventions of the 20th century, and that my Class of 1954, Lexington High School has been made famous by their part inthese re-inventions and re-discoveries. I'd like to tell you all about my classmates achievements ---- In 1927 the Znd Dick Schindler flew the Atlantic in Lindberg's place. Bob Carter and Bob Pittenger were engineer and announcer of the first radio program over KDKA, Pittsburg. Dale Ford has lived up to his name and perfected the Model A Ford. He's working now on the Model T, which he will invent in a few years. In the agricultural world,Charles Larimore has become a famous farmer, and is one of the originators of Future Farmers of America. Another class- mate, Larry Schumacher, is inventing the first practical tractor. Paul Hamil- ton has become well known through his efforts in conservation. In literature Ramon Fulton has become afamous author of humorous novels. Opel Rutledge has made her fame writing poetry in her spare time. Ann All- gire has been writing songs that perhaps will overshadow those of Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Paul Shuler is now president of a famous university, and is often asked to speak at his alma mater, Lexington. In the fashion world, Lyn Wiles has become a famous New York dress de- signer, and Carole Auer has made a success modelling Lyn's creations. Bob McFarland has become a brilliant scientist, turning out astounding new theories on atoms and such. Ken Baker is an eminent minister, and has been attracting thousands of people to his Evangelism revivals across the country. Shirley Miller represented us in the military service a few years ago, but now she's in retirement, since we have no women's corps in the l9Z0's. Barbara Edwards and Janet Robertson are professors inhome economics - pioneers in that field. In the field of sports we are ably represented by Dizzy Dean Davidson, who holds last year's baseball triple crown. Just three years ago Bi11Rudrick won the first Indianapolis race in a car that he built himself. Lowell Kunkle has become a renowned statesman. He is preparing to be advisor to the League of Nations at the present. Jack Hoffner has become a successful industrial manufacturer. He owns two factories himself and is notion study expert for big factories all over the country. Janet Betz began studying nursing, and has risen to be a famous surgeon, fdoctors are very scarce in these days.J And of course, Mr. Editor, you know Donna Fuhrer - she is social editor on your newspaper. Well, Imust stop now, for I've told you all my classmates achievements. I would be obliged if you would publish this letter as a tribute to the Lexington High School Class of 1954. 18 SENICR PLAY Rev. Harper . . . CAST . . Ken Baker Abby Brewster ..... Grandma is all for spanking her witha hairbrush as a quick way of bring- ing her to her senses, but Penny's mother has been studying up on child psychology and is afraid she might warp Penny's personality. Of course, Joanna backs Penny up! It seems to Kerry that action is needed, and he and Greg plot with the family: they all go in for art! To make matters worse, the agent for a soap manu- facturer arrives. She is to sign Penny's dad for an advertising campaign that will put the family on easy street. Penny doesn't realize who the woman is and gives her a brushoff. There is a whirlwind of excite- ment, before a captivating climax, which gets the con- tract for Dad.
