Here at Lexington, I have certainly enjoyed the opportunity to administer the school with support and encouragement from the com- munity, Board of Education, and staff members. By working together, we have established an excellent Educational system for the students of this district. MR. BURSE DILLS ASST. A COMPANY OF PLAYERS ..is the collec- tive name given to the group of actors who work together to put on a play. The members of these organizations also work together to bring life and meaning to the clubs to which they belong. ORGANIZATIONS 39 Kin a Pree yearbcck! You .. . yes, YCXJ! . .. can be the winner of a free 1989 Yearbook. All you have to do is be the first to correctly identify the coaches and members of the 1967-68 Lex- ington Bulldog football team pictured ab- nove. Hey, this was a banner year ... it marked the first modern football team in Lex history. The contest is open to all Lexington High School and Middle School students, except those whose parents are employed by the school system or those on the yearbook staff. All you do is be the first to turn in a sheet of paper that correctly identifies the people in the picture to Mrs. Knight. This is an event of great historical significance, so you could become famous. GOOD LUCK!! 40 The 1987-88 Stu-co was responsible for many outstanding events of the 87-88 school year. Kicking off the year with bon- fire followed by a high spirited week of commercialized homecoming floats. Although the game wasn't a traditional homecoming victory, the Stu-co dance was successful. The race for royalty was brought to a climax as they announced King, Chance Shea, and Queen, Jennifer Nimmo. A first ever at Lexington, the seat belt assembly was brought to us by Stu-co. The seat belt assembly gave emphasis to seat belt awarness. Awards were given to those students who wore their seat belts, these awards were collected by Stu-co members from local merchants. Spirits were lifted during b-ball homecoming by Stu-co buttons. The but- tons were sold to students, allowing them to get to the homecoming game a little bit cheaper. The homecoming ceremonies also were sponsored by Stu-co members. The spirit of giving was recognized by Stu-co when they sponsored the food drive during the Christmas holiday for the needy people of our community. Thank you Stu-co, for an excellent year. From selecting a theme, designing a cover, and planning the pages, we moved to selling ads, selling books, and gathering the news and pictures that make up this year’s chronicle of life in the fast lane at LHS. It’s a tough job, but somone’s got to do it, and we are pro- ud to say we got the job done. Editor Shelley Gay sells books during lunch with moral support from Siru and Kim. After attending a memorable performance of Man of La Mancha, the club spent an equally memorable afternoon camping beside the in- terstate after their bus broke down. The club was also responsible for spreading more confetti than a ticker-tape parade on the floor of the old gym from the confetti eggs they sold at the carnival. In addition to attending the Arts Festival to see the Spanish influence on paintings and pottery, the Spanish classes also made their own pinatas and cooked their own Mexican meal. s p A N I S H C L a B GIFTED AND TALENTED (L-R): BACK-Sponsor Randall Fuller.
