Foreword It is the goal of the yearbook staff to have recorded on these pages the highlights of the 1968-69 school year. If in the future this book brings to mind memories of athletic vic- tories; club, organizational, and class activities; cherished friendships; and the little things of big importance which take place each day to bind us together as students of Lexington High School, we will have achieved our goal. 2 Administration.......................................5 Faculty..............................................9 Classes............................................ 13 Organizations.......................................63 Favorites...........................................71 Athletics...........................................81 Advertisements......................................93 3 Floyd Skinner graduated from Lexington High School in 1925. As a student, he was a member of the band, a charter member of the Lexington High School “Bullpups,” and participated on the basketball team and the football squad. Since being elected to the Lexington School Board in 1961, Mr. Skinner has devoted many hours of his time and energy for the benefit of the boys and girls of our school. In appreciation we dedicate the 1969 Lexington Bulldog to Mr. Floyd Skinner. MR. R. E. WARFORD - Superintendent In presenting this yearbook we hope to give the student body, alumni, parents, and teachers a pic- torial record of our activities as well as a historical record of the changing processes of modem education. I would like to express my appreciation to those who gave financial assistance, the yearbook staff and supervisor, and most of all the students who participated in the activities recorded here. ROW II: Gary Burnett, Gary Sanders, Kenny Sanders, Kenneth Edwards, Donnie Embry, Clint Hudson, Larry Pack, Gloyd Vinson, Mark Cochran. ROW III: Mr. Patterson, Max Burnett, Mike Gwin, Paul Com, Don Trussel, Coach West. Despite the fact that 1968 was the first football season in twenty- nine years, the Lex Bulldogs did their job well. Although there were no wins, the Bulldog team rapidly developed a reputation for being one of the roughest, hardest playing teams in our area. Dedica- tion to the game and a desire to win was shown, but experience was needed. The boys who showed the most improvement and, who, at the end of the season, had become out- standing Bulldog team members are the five boys shown at the right. Defense: Marvin Stewart, Billy Farrow.
