7 965 Bulldog LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL Dedication The students of Lexington High School want you to know we appreciate a job well done. You have encouraged, directed, and guided us in our attainment of an education. A simple “thank you seems inappropriate for such a tremendous task. This is why we are exceedingly proud to dedicate our 1965 'Bulldog to you, MRS. BURKETT. Administration Provides Leadership Our school board for 1964-65 has done a remarkable job providing an educational program for the youth of the community. They are Darrell Ille, P. K. Jones. Floyd Skinner, Ace McCown, and Lloyd Boat- right. Standing is Mr. Jinks. Superintendent. Our Superintendent. Mr. J. E. Jinks, has been at Lexington for four years. He has a B. S. and B. A. from East Central. He has an M. A. from O. U. Mr. Chelsea Burkett is our senior high principal. He has been at Lexington for sixteen years. He re- ceived a B.S. and a M.S. at O. U. Mr. G. D. Reese has been at Lexington for two years. He has his B. A. from S. E. State College. Besides teaching history and physical education, Mr. Reese serves as Jr. High Principal. Mr. W. D. Pruit has been at Lexington for eighteen years. He received his M. A. in Education from O. U. He has a B. A. from East Central. Mr. Pruit teaches Sixth grade and serves as Grade Principal. Personnel Works Efficiently Mrs. Joan Lambdin has served as school secretary for two years. Her happy smile brightens the office. Mr. Loranz Burnett and Mr. R. D. Wilkins are school custodians. They do a marvelous job maintaining grounds and buildings throughout the school year. Mr. Larry Northup and Mr. Larry Wright spent nine weeks at Lexington as student teachers. Our school cooks have a tremendous job to perform throughout the year. They are Mrs. Geneva Black- well. Mrs. Mabel Thompson, Mrs. Catherine Feuer- born, and Mrs. Catherine Rudis ell. The men responsible for the safe transport of Lexing- ton students are our bus drivers. They are Mr. George Slavin, Mr. John McMakin, Mr. Clifton Shockey, Mr. George Murrah, and Mr. Elight Blackwell. Mr. Jerry Phillips has been with us for two years. He has a B. S. from Southwestern State College. He teaches biology, physics, chemistry, and general science. 4 Mr. Joe Bob Lewis has taught math at Lexington for three years. He received his B. S. from East Central. Mr. Jim Hunter has spent seventeen dedicated years at Lexington. He has a B. S. and an M. S. from Okla- homa State University. Mr. Hunter teaches Vocational Agriculture. This is Miss Suzanne Holmes' first year with us. She teaches band and music. She received her B. M. from O. C. U. Mr. W. N. Russell has taught at Lexington for seven years. He received his B. S. at East Central State and his M. S. at O. U. He teaches history and junior high physical edu- cation. Faculty Gives Inspiration Mrs. Zelma Cromer has been at Lexington for three years. She received her M. A. in Home Economics Education from O. U. She teaches Home Economics and does counseling work. Mr. Tom Strickland has been at Lexington for four years. He teaches civics, math, mechanical drawing, and driver education. He received his B. S. degree from East Central State. Mr. Rheuben Green has taught at Lexington for three years. He has a B. S. in Education from O. U. He teaches Spanish, music, and English. This is Mrs. Faye Reece's first year at Lexington. She received her B. S. from O, C. W. Mrs. Reece teaches commerce and his- tory. Mr. A1 Roach has taught at Lexing- ton for four years. He has a B. A. and an M. T. from East Central State College. Mr. Roach teaches English. Mr. Dwayne Sterling came to Lexington three years ago. He has a B. S. at Phillips Univer- sity. He teaches history, English, and is in charge of our fine library. Faculty Gives Inspiration Mrs. Allesse Chenoweth has taught math, social studies, history and English at Lex- ington for eight years. She received her B. S. and M. S. at O. U. The lively set. They proved to be an active and talented addition to the school. At their first class meeting they selected Mr. Phillips and Mr. Lewis as their sponsors. These two capable sponsors helped plan a success- ful hay ride and wiener roast in Octobe, The sophomores were active in all the school clubs and took a leading part in many. A number of sophomores distinguished themselves in athletics. Sue Slatten, Gale Hobson, Barbara Slate, Margaret Spore, and Mary Shobert all opened the basketball season as starters. Dana Hobson saw a great deal of action on the boy's basketball team as did Kathy Hunter for the girls. Sophomore Sue Slatten was re-elected Secretary of the Student Council and Dana Hobson was elected Parliamentarian. Sue was hon- ored in October by receiving the first Citizen of the Month award.
