They may use flaghoist, flashing light, yardarm blinkers, infra-red Nancy, or fat close quartersj semaphore. The signalmen on Watch also supplement the regular lookouts by reporting all visual contacts to the Bridge. The signal bridge is regularly used for signals between ships in company, and when the Lexington is operating in radio silence the men of OS Division become absolutely indispensible.
