BORN IN HOLBROOK, ARIZONA ON OCTOBER 4, 1916, HE GRADUATED FROM THE NAVAL ACADEMY WITH THE CLASS OF 1940, AND SAW A VARIETY OF CARRIER DUTY BEFORE COMING TO THE LEXINGTON FROM THE NAVAL AIR TEST CENTER AT FATUXENT RIVER. ON SEPTEMBER 2, 1957, HE WAS ORDERED TO THE LEXINGTON AS EXECUTIVE OFFICER, BEFORE WHICH HE SERVED AS EXECUTIVE OFFICER, NROTC DUKE UNIVERSITY. COMMANDER MALINASKY AND HIS FAMILY ARE NOW LIVING IN HAWAII, WHERE HE HAS BEEN ASSIGNED AS EXECUTIVE OFFICER, NAS FORD ISLAND. I
