A r ' Standing Room Q Q, Q5 A -1 ' As the days began to growggshorter and nights cooler, students began to get ready for the opening of school and teachers began preparingfor another year of academic life. It was rumored that LHS was going to be over crowded, and on Aug. 25, 1983, this rumor became fact. As the halls quickly began filling, it was quite obvious there was Standing Room Only. The total amount of students mingl- ing through the hallways was about 2400, but the enrollment grew each- dayg Old friendships were renewed and new students found new friends. The sophomores were easily spotted with a look of con- fusion pasted on their faces. Seniors tried their best to sell elevator passes to the unsuspecting sophomores while. juniors tried to look cool since they weren't the youngest at LHS. Schedules were handed out through advisory classes as the new school routine began to shape up. Crowded condi- tions wererft only found in the halls, but in the lunchroom as well. The five 30'minute lunches were so crowded that elbow room needed for eating was scarce. Students later found an easy way out of the crowds by being suspended to the new PASS programg these folks beat the crowd to lunch and literally stayed out of the packed hallways. The parkinglot was a very dangerous scene all year long. Inyorder to find a good parking spot one had to get to school before 8 a.m. which was very dif- ficult for most students. Only a few people exited they parking lot without some type of fender bender. Congratulations to those who survived LHS's smash-up derby. Eventhough there was Standing Room Only, the traditions passed on each year still existed in Lewisville High School. T we Jeanne Rau Standing Roi m Only 3

The marquee shows there is Standing Room Only in LHS. Fighting Farmer fans show we are number one at a football ROD! Ol LY Being a part of the crowd was very important to Lewisville High School students. It seemed that many came with the at- titude of wanting to get involved in various activities. Student Council started the year off by getting people involved with sophomore and new student orientation. This familiarized the students with the school and stu- dent leaders. The cheerleaders made a valiant effort to involve people in supporting the football team. Some spirit days included sock it to 'em, Punk-Out Plano, and Halloween dress up. The gym overflowded with Farmer Fans at the beginning of the year, however the audience dwindled after the Farmers lost to Plano. The stormy clouds of defeat seemed to scare the fair weather crowds away.llJ - Jeanne Rau - on---14 Q1 'Q a wicl. 1,' 'TW
