Harvest Staff at Press s O 8 Welcome to Room 202 and the Newspaper Production class. The class is a regularly scheduled fourth period class, but is definitely dif- ferent. The entire group is in charge of Lewisville High School's weekly publication, The Farmers' Harvest. Eleven very dedicated journalism students make up the class, nine of which are staff writers and two which are staff photographers. The week begins on Monday as assignments are given to the entire staff. Wednesday afternoons are always a challenge. A fren- zied atmosphere invades Room 202 as final typing cor- rections are being made or the layout of a page is being done. This is the time when the Farmers' Harvest is constructed. It begins with layout, the general design of the page, which is done by the editors. The paper is published in both the Lewisville Daily Leadern and the Colony Leader on Friday. Friday is also a deadline for all stories assigned, with the exception of weekend events which all are due Monday. Another Monday hits as stories are assigned and The Farmers' Harvest is sold to students during lunch. - Dale Myers if Dale Myers peers over an October issue of the Harvest. The paper comes out every week in the Lewisville Daily Leader. Cindy Rash and Dale Myers, manag- ing editor, edit copy submitted by Harvest staff reporters. Both are two year journalism students. The red pen strikes again as sponsor Carolyn Morriss corrects copy. Each student is required to turn in two stories every week. 186 Farmers' Harvest lf.ND5llQlJ5 Qi lm 'Eliminator' Tour Ronsocks Reu g KN e C simon luke-', lvl! k,,.,g rg,J.-rim!
