Yearbook Staffers Count to Ten Who is behind the pages? Where do the pictures come from? The LHS Farmer is produced annually by a select group of students. Each day in Room 202 during fifth period, it may look like total chaos to any other in- dividual, but actually it's just the staff hard at work. The students behind the publica- tion put in many hours of hard work. They are respon- sible for the taking and developing of pictures, writing copy, doing layouts and literally putting the book together. A typical day for the annual staff is usually quiet and calm, but when a deadline rolls around . . . look out! Staffers are usually on edge and pressed for time. Last minute details and perfection are always a must . When one loses his temper or things are just not falling into place properly, the philosophy of the class is to slowly count to 10 until the bottled up pressure is releas- ed. Every thing always turns out for the best. All the hours of work and worry always turn out for the better. The Farmer would not be possible if it weren't for the sponsor, Carolyn Morriss. Her suggestions and guidance help the staff tremendously. The long hours and dedication she puts forth are above and beyond the call of duty. Her smiling face is something that helps the staff through those hectic days. As far as what is learned in yearbook class, Julie Weaver, ad manager said, Annual staff has taught me responsibility, getting along with others and how to manage my time. Excitement grows through the year as delivery of the final copy gets nearer. The hard work and long hours are well worth the satisfaction when the annual finally ar- rives. - Jeanne Rau Lil Beverly Mullins thinks deeply about her pages. Beverly works mainly on the sports section. Jeanne Rau is in a daze thinking about the upcoming deadlines. Jeanne is the editor of the yearbook. 184 Annual Staff Photographer Steve Smith glances away while printing pictures. Steve is a photographer for both the annual and the Harvest staff. . l 2 2
