Council - irst Rate Show The Student Council is often the driving force behind a student hody. This organization is instrumental in promoting school spirit, organizing public relations for the school, aiding other organizations and actually providing leadership for the entire school. Homecoming is the first major event of the year. Many hours are spent organizing and preparing the Homecoming floats which each class is responsible for creating. The council must also run the Homecoming Court and Queen elections and printing, distributing, counting and tallying the ballots. The Student Council of- ficers run all school elections, preside over all fundraisers, represent the school in the community and make major influencing decisions. All in all, the student council of- ficers, representatives and sponsors work together to serve the student body and the school and to ensure an organized and memorable school year. - Desiree Babler lf Athena Tsakonas sells carnations to raise funds for the Student Council.
