The JV cheerleaders lead hard working, enthusiastic lives this year. It started with nerve racking tryouts in April of last year. But out of all of this came individuals who worked hard to be a dedicated cheering squad. Practices began in June, with workouts twice a week at 6 a.m. By the end of the sum- mer the squad had come together as a group as they won a spirit stick and a first place ribbon at the Lewisville Varsity Clinic. With the beginning of the football season the real work began and continued throughout the school year. The JV cheerleaders sup- ported and encouraged team 176 Bell Crew - J.V. Cheerleaders ,fi l . . Cheerleaders, Bell Crew Bolster Farmers spirit throughout the football and basketball season for both the sophomore and JV teams. The group also helped the varsity cheerleaders dur- ing pep rallies and other school activities. We've had our ups and downs, tears and joy but through it all we have learned dedication, responsibility and team work, said Anita Alcoze, head cheerleader for JV. - Anita Alcoze. This was a year of firsts for the Bell Crew. This was the first Bell Crew to ever go to cheerleading camp and the first time for the Bell Crew and cheerleaders to cheer together and work on pyramids. Problems sometimes developedg however, the members learn- ed that personal feelings and opinions must be forgotten to make the group work. Work- ing with the cheerleaders raised school spirit and add- ed a new touch to the games and pep rallies. The members themselves spent time ex- plaining that they put in several hours practice each week contrary to the idea they just went out on the field and did anything that came to mind. The super sponsor Mr. Right made all this possible. This year also marked the first appearance of the Big John mascot and the three junior members. - Matt Baker lf l 4 E MMIII!! ,,,,,
