Y ' ww 3 Finding a New Way A bigger town means more young people with their own way of doing things. From Earl Scruggs to Alice Cooper the con- trast between young and old is the sign of today. Becoming a Real McCoy One of the funny things about learn- ing to live together is understanding how divided we are. Our faces, our clothes, our fads all proclaim us indi- viduals, while we walk in the same shoes, going different directions. The Future Is Now It is always now and never yesterday or tomorrow, but yesterday's fun and tomor- row's promise keep the ugood ole daysv alive in us. So traditions like picnics, football games, and just taking it easy are still impor- tant to the everyday people. Diana Hanson and Laurie Beh- rens clap and yell their heads off fupper leflj while Arthur Turrub- iarte, Cecelia Parrish, Deana Stanley, and Chris Rogers take advantage of an afternoon in the park flower leftj. A week before homecom- ing, people were grabbing all kinds of ideas for class floats. No matter how you said it though, the idea was the same - the Warriors were in big trouble. With all the plans, there seemed to be little time to get every- thing done, although for three senior girls, the week took forever. When the dayis confusion was over, Connie Boyd reigned as queen, the seniors finally Won a float contest, the Farmers clobbered South Grand Prairie and the exes remembered times gone by. V ,, 5,..,--W i fu, 0 It's Trick or Treat Time With trick or treat and things to eat, everyone was out for a good scare. Even teachers had the nerve for a good time. While the little people were seen running from door to door with a big bag of goodies to take home. Without the traditional lights Christmas in '73 wasn,t quite the same. But with thoughts of Santa Claus and 13 glorious holi- days ahead we managed to overlook the energy crisis. The prospects for the New Year hold slowing down to 55, taking life easier and staying closer to home. Ye Gle Yule Time i I9 Be My Baby Tonight ,.,. Being a leader and being able to go when 'gyou'rejust about gone' is at times 'an impossible job, but these girls don't seem to mind as they spend most of their time practicing, making signs, decorating andjust keeping the rest of us on the ball. Building Big Johnis spirit is their job. These yell- leaders have that something special that makes wearing maroon and white more than just a symbol of game day. There's nothing so much fun as cheering for a winner and were we ever winners! But the real test of pride comes when you are on the short end of the scoreboard. When you want to win so badly that you can't stand it and yet never lose faith in defeat . . . When you can manage to choke a smile through tears, then you believe. You are a cheer- leader.
