I , In -L 61 Behold The Band CID -Q L'-1' The Lewiston High School Band is one of the oldest and hardest working of the school's organilations. ln spite of adversities, the band members have always shown their determination to produce a good hand. This year they were rewarded with brand-new facilities in which to work. The unit includes a band room, storage room, two practice rooms and an office. Under the combined direction of Mr. Theodore Armstrong. the band leader, Mr. Joseph Deslauriers, his assistant. and Mr. Oscar Hartford, the drill master, the band has appeared on many occasions. They paraded at football games, and on Hallowe'en, Veterans' Day, and lNIemorial Day. The band traveled to Biddeford to take part in the XN'estern Maine Music Festival and performed at the Maine Teachers' Association Convention and the opening of the Hillcrest Poultry Co. They also contributed greatly to the dedication ceremonies of our new auditorium and gymnasium. Richard Desrochers, Michael McFadden. Mary Lt-Blanc and Thomas Hart- ford were elected to serve as ollicers ol the newly-formed Band Club. jeffrey Wlade was appointed student conductor. 62 ' 1 if 1 ,. .Z . . .M 5 ft x 5 Q H X, Flutes: C.
