Foreword ERE IT lS . . . your own copy of the 1950 Bengal. it has been the under- taking of the staff of 1950 to bring you the biggest and one of the best yearbooks that have ever been published at Lewiston High School. Publishing this book, with 104 pages plus the five inserted color divi- sion pages, has cost the staff considerable planning and figuring to make all ends meet. The advertising staff, with a goal of two hundred ads from friendly Twin City businessmen, worked constantly from February to the first of April to be able to show a clean balance in the account books. The staff worked diligently during the 1949-1950 term to bring you this representative flash-back of your school year at LHS. The 120 separate engraving cuts used in the book were a big problem to get ready. For every cut used, the staff had to take three or four pictures of each group despite the twenty-two below zero temperatures, the record snowfall and rain showers during the early spring, besides trying to get people out on time. For the Seniors we have tried to include every activity and club to which they belonged to provide a memorable record of their stay at Lew- iston High School. For the underclassmen we have tried to set a standard by which the books in the future might be iust as good as our 1950 Bengal. Yes, in picture, cartoon, art work and writeup the staff of the 1950 Bengal has labored earnestly to bring you this yearbook. We trust that errors that may have crept in, despite triple-checking, will be minor and that the merits of the book will far overshadow them. Thus another fond and cherished school tradition has been carried out. Today you have the results of the work of the seventeen annual staffers who brought you the 1950 BENGAL. - The Editor.
